In the Swim!

Things are buzzin' at the Fitness Works Gilbert pool with Wateworks' swimmers. Instructors Leigh and Kelly are doing a great job with the little guys on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The kids are doing very well.. we actually have few tears this month. Yeah! We have some old friends back from last year. It's great to see you kids. Many of our kids swim year round and we get so used to them and learn to love 'em. And then there are you kids who swim with us for a few months in the summer, and then you are back again to refresh and update in the spring. Many of you remember Tammy who was with Waterworks for years. Although she insists she is moving to Minnesota any day now, we have convinced her to stick around and help us for a few weeks! After all, she's got to get out of the house for a few hours to get relief from her two cute baby boys; Curly-haired Landon who was 2 in December and Logan her precious infant who was born healthy and adorable in February.
Although Christina has gotten a full-time job, she loves teaching so much she still teaches Saturdays at Fitness Works and helps us out during the week when she can. We appreciate the support and dedication from Christina and Tammy!

Stay safe. Keep the floaties off. Keep the toys away from the pool area. And always, always.. eye to eye contact.

Backyard Lessons - Swim with us in your own pool!

Let Waterworks send our qualified and experienced swim instructors to your backyard. Some children are more comfortable with swim lessons at home, and the consistency of two or four days a week is recommended. We'll come to your pool for a private lesson, or you can create your own small group with children of similar abilities.

Flexibility on your time frame is appreciated so that we can arrange our backyard lessons in a cost-effective manner according to location. Two lessons back-to-back at your home is preferred, and we will waive the annual fee! We have opted not to raise our prices this year despite the rising cost of fuel, so your assistance is appreciated.

See our Backyard Schedule for session dates and click here for Backyard Fees.

Watch your children around water!

The recent local 'near drowning' in a canal episode is a nagging reminder to watch your children around ANY body of water! I am not sure how this one-year old faired, but he was found in one-two feet of water in a canal. He was rushed to the hospital and hopefully survived without damage. It only takes a second. Keep toys away from the pool area-in the pool area keep tempting toys away. Outside of the pool area keep toy boxes, chairs and any other items that might be used to push against the pool gate and used as a climbing device.
Teach your child to swim at an early age. But never assume that he/she is drown proof.
